The latest gadgets for geeks on the go are handheld video players, portable devices that can store many GB's of data and play back photos or MPEG-4 movies (plus various audio formats) on a 3.8-inch color LCD screen.
This week the Acrhos AV300 series will hit the shops. The Archos AV320 has a 20GB harddsik and the AV340 a 40GB harddisk, they will cost around 530,- (AV320) and 630,- (AV340). The AV300 series can be used as mp3 player, video player (MPG4, DivX, XVid) and photo browser. It is possible to playback video on the device itself or plug in onto a television or computer, it is also possible to record video (for example a DVD or Television show). Archos says that you can view 80 hours of video with the 40Gb version. Click here for the specs of the AV320, and here for the AV340 (www.archos.com).
